The Cornell men's golf team concluded the Ivy League Championship with a seventh-place finish, carding a final round of 295 (+7) at Baltusrol Golf Club on April 26. Tyler Debusschere led the Big Red with a 71 (-1), the lowest round for Cornell during the tournament, finishing tied for 21st individually. Junior Tyler Debusschere also had a strong showing, finishing 18th overall with a total score of +12. Despite the team's struggles earlier in the tournament, they improved their performance in the final round. Harvard claimed the team title with a score of 874 (+10).
At the Penn Relays, the Cornell women's track and field team showcased impressive performances, particularly in the shot put. Nicole Loy finished third with a throw of 14.69m, moving to fourth on Cornell's all-time list, while Claire Springer placed sixth with a personal best of 14.22m. The 4x800-meter relay team also competed, finishing 11th in 9:10.77, contributing to a solid overall showing at the prestigious meet. The Big Red will next compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton from May 1-3.
In softball, the Big Red faced a challenging doubleheader against Brown on April 26, suffering a sweep with scores of 5-3 and 14-1. Emma Harshberger stood out offensively, hitting a home run in game one and contributing multiple hits across both games. However, the pitching staff struggled, particularly in the second game where they allowed 14 runs. The team will need to regroup as they look to finish the season strong in their upcoming contests.
