Army West Point men's lacrosse clinches a share of the Patriot League regular season title after a commanding 17-6 victory over Colgate on April 25. This marks the fourth consecutive season that Army has secured the championship, finishing the regular season with an 11-3 overall record and 6-2 in league play. Brayden Fountain led the scoring with four goals, while Gunnar Fellows contributed five points through two goals and three assists. The Black Knights dominated the ground ball battle, winning 32-18, with senior goalkeeper Sean Byrne recording 12 saves.
In women's lacrosse, Army also made headlines by clinching its first-ever Patriot League regular season title with a 21-6 win against Colgate on April 22. The Black Knights, ranked 13th/15th nationally, concluded the regular season with a 13-3 record and an impressive 8-1 in the league. Senior Brigid Duffy was a standout performer, scoring six goals and adding two assists. The victory secured Army the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament, highlighting a historic season for the program.
On the diamond, Army West Point softball made history by breaking its single-season home run record during a doubleheader sweep against Saint Peter's on April 22. The Black Knights won both games, 6-4 and 5-2, with Taylor Brown hitting the record-tying home run. The team now boasts 29 home runs this season, surpassing the previous record of 28 set in 2004. The Black Knights will next face Bucknell in a series starting on April 26, having dominated their historical matchup against the Bison.
In track and field, Army had an impressive showing at the Penn Relays from April 25 to 27. Sophomore Collin Torres won the men's javelin championship with a throw of 67.77 meters, marking the sixth-best distance in program history. Additionally, Charlotte Richman set a new program record in the women's 5000 meters, finishing third with a time of 15:34.07. The women's 4x800m relay team also set a record with a time of 8:33.86, showcasing the depth and talent of Army's track and field program.
Finally, in football news, linebacker Andon Thomas received an invitation to the Baltimore Ravens rookie minicamp, while slotback Noah Short has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. Both players leave Army as significant contributors, with Short being the first in program history to achieve over 1,000 rushing and receiving yards in his career. Army also announced its 2026 team captains: Stephen Nnadozie, Brady Small, and Owen Walter, reflecting the leadership and commitment within the program.
