The Williams College men's golf team secured its 14th NESCAC Championship title, dominating the final day of competition at Fox Hopyard Golf Club with a 13-stroke victory. First-year Nick Smith led the Ephs, finishing the tournament at even par and earning medalist honors, three strokes ahead of teammate Jack Estrella, who placed second. This win not only marks Williams’ first NESCAC title since 2017 but also qualifies the team for the NCAA Championship, scheduled for May 12-15 at Mission Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Head Coach Josh Hillman praised the team's focus and execution throughout the tournament, noting their consistent performance this spring.
In track and field, the Williams men's team finished fifth at the NESCAC Championships held at Lee Track, scoring 67 points. The Ephs celebrated individual victories from Zachary Liu-Walter in the 800m (1:50.09), Emil Nelson in the 10,000m (30:25.93), and Henry Alexander in the steeplechase (9:04.46). Uly Junker set a school record in the long jump with a mark of 7.41 meters, while Vincent VanMaaren won the pole vault by clearing 4.75 meters. The women's team excelled as well, finishing as NESCAC runner-up with 135 points. Highlights included Kate Tuttle's school-record 1500m victory (4:24.53) and a record-setting performance in the 4x800 relay (9:02.98).
On the softball diamond, the Ephs split a doubleheader against Wesleyan on senior day, winning the first game 3-0 before falling 2-0 in the second. Senior Sadie Leonard earned the win in the opener, striking out 14 batters and allowing just four hits. The Ephs honored their senior class, which has contributed to two NESCAC Championships and three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. The team now holds a record of 20-14 overall and 9-5 in NESCAC play, as they prepare for their final regular-season games this week.
