The Tufts University men's lacrosse team, ranked No. 1, showcased its dominance in the NESCAC quarterfinals with a 21-11 victory over Middlebury College on April 25. Senior attack Jack Regnery led the offensive charge, contributing four goals and three assists. This win propels the Jumbos (15-1) into the semifinals, where they will face Bates College on May 2. Earlier in the week, Tufts suffered a rare defeat, ending a 42-game win streak with a 14-12 loss to No. 2 Bowdoin, a setback that relegated them to the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
The women's lacrosse team, also ranked No. 2, advanced to the NESCAC semifinals after a commanding 20-7 victory against Colby College, where they outscored the Mules 8-0 in the first quarter. Senior Allie Zorn and junior Schuyler Lloyd were instrumental in the early surge, combining for seven goals in that opening stretch. The Jumbos (15-2) will meet No. 3 seed Wesleyan University in the semifinals on May 2.
In track and field, both the men's and women's teams delivered strong performances at the NESCAC Championships. The men's team finished as runners-up, securing four individual titles, including Randy Hamilton's second javelin throw championship, where he set a new personal best and improved his own school record. The women's team also led after the first day, highlighted by Ceci LaBarge's victory in the hammer throw, making her the first Jumbo to win that event since 2018. Both teams will look to build on their successes in upcoming meets.
The men's golf team achieved a runner-up finish at the NESCAC Championships, with Brendan Roy and Holden Kittelberger placing fourth and fifth respectively. Roy's consistent play throughout the tournament was a highlight, as he finished with a total of seven over par. The Jumbos' strong showing in this championship reflects their growing competitiveness in the conference.
On the baseball diamond, the No. 24 Jumbos clinched the top seed in the NESCAC East division after splitting a doubleheader against Trinity College. They secured a 3-1 victory in the first game, with strong pitching from Emmet Christian, while the second game saw them fall 14-5. Their successful season continues as they prepare for the NESCAC tournament.
Softball also enjoyed a productive week, sweeping a doubleheader against Brandeis University with a 4-2 and 14-9 scoreline. The second game featured a remarkable 21 hits, marking the team's most in a game in over a decade. This performance underlines the Jumbos' offensive capabilities as they head into the final stretch of their season.
