The Colby College track and field teams competed at the NESCAC Championships held at Williams College on April 25-26. The men's team secured a sixth-place finish overall with 56 points, highlighted by two individual champions: Lexington Lehnert in the pole vault, who cleared 4.90 meters, and Levi Biery, who dominated the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.80 seconds. Jackson Coelho also made headlines, earning All-NESCAC honors with a third-place finish in the 400 meters, clocking a school-record time of 47.58 seconds. The women's team finished in tenth place with 22 points, led by a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, where Alex Hermsdorf, Charlotte Brake-Hoffman, Olivia Doherty, and Kaitlyn Ewald recorded a time of 3:45.37. Simone Waheed excelled in the sprints, posting times of 11.67 seconds in the 100 meters and 24.41 seconds in the 200 meters, while Ewald also performed well in the 400 meters with a time of 56.53 seconds.
In softball, the No. 15 ranked Mules split a doubleheader against Trinity College on April 26. Colby secured a 6-4 victory in the first game, overcoming an early 4-0 deficit. The Mules rallied in the seventh inning, with key hits from junior Juliana Kiley and senior Victoria Ramirez, who drove in crucial runs to clinch the win. Sophomore Sophia Meade earned the win in the circle, allowing just one hit and no runs in 5.2 innings of relief. However, in the second game, Colby fell short, losing 4-3. The team now holds a 23-8 overall record and will look to build on their momentum as they prepare for upcoming contests.
