The Trinity College Women's Lacrosse team achieved a significant victory against Colby College, winning 12-7 in a critical NESCAC matchup on April 18. The Bantams, now 11-4 overall and 6-3 in conference play, showcased their offensive prowess with hat tricks from both Sarah Zito and Grace Denious. The team outshot the Mules 33-15 and forced 12 turnovers, with standout performances from Sam Hark, who caused four turnovers, and goalkeeper Ali MacDougall, who made five saves. Looking ahead, Trinity will face Amherst College, a formidable opponent with a 12-1 record, on Wednesday.
In track and field, the Bantams excelled at the Trinity College Invitational on April 19, with both the men's and women's teams delivering impressive performances. The women's squad recorded 21 top-ten finishes, including eight in the top three, led by a strong showing in the 4x100 relay. Meanwhile, the men's team secured 17 top-ten finishes and claimed first place in the 4x400 relay, highlighting their depth and competitive spirit. The success at this home meet sets a positive tone as the teams prepare for upcoming competitions.
The Trinity College Softball team completed a successful weekend with a doubleheader sweep against Amherst College on April 18, improving their overall record to 16-10 and their NESCAC mark to 7-5. The Bantams won the first game 7-5, bolstered by a strong second inning and key contributions from players like Lizzie Nelson and Mikayla O'Brien. In the second game, Trinity secured a 7-2 victory, highlighted by a six-run fourth inning that showcased their offensive capabilities. The team also swept a non-conference doubleheader against Mitchell College earlier in the week, further solidifying their momentum as they approach the final stretch of the season.
