The Colby College softball team had a successful weekend, taking three of four games against No. 25 Middlebury College and Williams College. After a tough 9-5 loss to Middlebury in the first game on Friday, the Mules rebounded to win the nightcap 2-1, thanks to a two-run single by senior Carissa Cassidy. On Saturday, Colby continued its momentum with a doubleheader sweep of Williams, winning 5-2 in the first game and securing a 1-0 victory in the second, further solidifying their position in the NESCAC standings.
In women's lacrosse, the Mules capped off their regular season with a dominant 17-6 win over Roger Williams University. Colby jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first quarter, showcasing a balanced scoring effort led by sophomore Charlotte Michener, who netted three goals. The Mules' defense was equally impressive, maintaining a high clear rate and limiting their opponent's opportunities. Earlier in the week, Colby faced Trinity College, falling 12-7 despite a strong performance from goalkeeper Brynna Hall, who recorded 13 saves.
The men's lacrosse team concluded its season with a hard-fought 13-11 loss to Trinity. Despite outshooting their opponents and matching them in ground balls, the Mules could not overcome a slow start. Eli Chilicki, Daniel O'Connor, and Gavin Rothenberg each scored three goals, demonstrating the team's offensive capabilities even in defeat. Earlier in the week, the Mules faced Bates College, where they fell 19-9, with Chilicki again leading the offense with four goals.
In rowing, the men's crew faced tough competition at a regatta in Worcester, Massachusetts, racing against several ranked teams, including defending national champions Trinity. While they secured wins against Ithaca and WPI, they fell short against Marietta and Trinity. The women's crew, however, had a successful outing, sweeping all three of their races against WPI, Clark, and Connecticut College, with the first varsity eight finishing well ahead of the competition. Both teams are now preparing for the President's Cup next week, where they will face off against Bates and Bowdoin.
