The Harvard men's golf team, fresh off winning the Ivy League Championship, is set to compete in the NCAA Men's Golf Athens Regional from May 18-20 at the University of Georgia Golf Course. This marks the program's first conference title since 2017, securing its place in the NCAA postseason. The Crimson's strong spring performance, including back-to-back tournament victories, has positioned them well as they face some of the nation's top programs in their quest for further postseason success.
In softball, nine players earned All-Ivy League honors following a successful regular season that culminated in a spot in the Ivy League Tournament. Junior infielder Sophie Sun, junior outfielder Audrey Szollosi, and junior pitcher/utility Nicolette Hunter were named to the All-Ivy League First Team. Sun, who had a standout season with 51 RBIs and 13 home runs, is only the third player in Harvard history to record over 50 RBIs in a single season. The Crimson, entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed, began their postseason journey against Columbia on May 7, where they aim to build on their strong finish to the regular season.
Harvard track & field also had a notable week, highlighted by sophomore Ella Cooper being named the Ivy League's Women's Athlete of the Week. Cooper excelled at the Duke Twilight, finishing fourth in the women's 100m and second in the 200m, with both times ranking among the best in Harvard history. Additionally, sophomore Harlow Tong set a new program record in the men's 400m with a time of 46.06, surpassing his previous best. The Crimson will look to carry this momentum into the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships scheduled for May 16-17.
In baseball, senior infielder Jordan Kang was recognized as the Ivy League Player of the Week after a remarkable performance that included a .737 batting average over four games. He played a crucial role in Harvard's sweep of Princeton, contributing significantly with multiple hits and runs in each game. Kang's efforts helped the Crimson finish the regular season strong, setting the stage for a promising postseason.
Meanwhile, in women's hockey, goaltender Ainsley Tuffy has been selected for the USA Hockey Development Camp, showcasing her talent after an impressive season where she led the ECAC with a .950 save percentage. Tuffy's participation in the camp from May 18-21 highlights her continued development and potential for future success at the national level.
