The Yale men's lacrosse team, ranked No. 11, has been named the 2026 NEILA Division I champions, receiving unanimous recognition from the organization. With a record of 9-5 and a strong finish to the season, the Bulldogs earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, marking their first appearance since 2023. They will face No. 6 Syracuse in the first round on Sunday, May 10. The team’s resurgence included key victories over ranked opponents, solidifying their place among the nation’s elite.
The No. 16 Yale women's lacrosse team also secured its spot in the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year, a first in program history. After a hard-fought loss to Princeton in the Ivy League Tournament final, the Bulldogs (13-4, 6-1 Ivy League) will take on No. 12 Boston College in the first round on Friday, May 6. In the championship match, Yale led 8-6 heading into the fourth quarter but was unable to hold off a late surge by Princeton, ultimately losing 12-8. First-year attackers Whitney Froeb and Kate Gould each scored two goals in the contest, showcasing the talent of the team’s younger players.
In softball, four Bulldogs received All-Ivy honors this week. Libby Peoples earned First Team recognition for her outstanding season, leading the team with a .381 batting average and six triples. Ellie Joseph, a standout first-year pitcher, was named to the Second Team after posting a 3.84 ERA and 80 strikeouts over 102 innings. Captain Emma Taylor received Honorable Mention recognition as she concluded her collegiate career. Additionally, Kaitlyn Oikle was named Yale's Academic All-Ivy selection, highlighting the team’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field. The Bulldogs will look to build on these accolades as they prepare for the upcoming season.
