This win allowed Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to finish the season on a high note, although they had previously lost to Pomona-Pitzer 16-6 on April 23, securing the No. 2 seed for the upcoming SCIAC Tournament.
The softball team also had a successful Senior Day, sweeping Occidental in a doubleheader on April 26. The Athenas won the first game 5-4, highlighted by a walk-off RBI single from Hannah Adams, and followed up with an 8-3 victory in the second game. Earlier in the week, Alex Wedemeyer showcased her power by hitting two home runs in an 8-5 win over Occidental on April 25, helping the Athenas take the series opener. The team now looks to build on this momentum as they head into the final stretch of their season.
