The Wesleyan University women's tennis team secured its sixth NESCAC Championship title in seven years with a decisive 4-0 victory over Bowdoin College on May 4. This championship marks a historic achievement as it is the first time in program history that the Cardinals swept the title match. Under the guidance of coaches Stephanie Yanosov and Roland Thornqvist, Wesleyan showcased a predominantly freshman lineup, finishing the season with an impressive 18-2 overall record and an undefeated NESCAC slate. Mariia Kornilova '29 clinched the championship with a commanding performance at No. 4 singles, defeating Zoe Sun 6-2, 6-2. Senior Sarah Youngberg also contributed significantly, winning her match at No. 5 with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Following this success, Agnes Guggenheim '29 was named NESCAC Rookie of the Year, adding to the accolades with First Team Singles honors. Leila Epstein '26 also earned First Team recognition, while Guggenheim's overall record of 16-7 included notable victories against top-ranked opponents.

In women's lacrosse, Lindsey Diomede '26 made history by becoming the first player in the program's history to earn NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Diomede, along with four other Cardinals, received All-NESCAC accolades following a strong season. She was joined on the First Team by senior defender Molly Simon '26 and senior goalkeeper Izzy Weintraub '26, while senior attack Addie Cummings '26 and senior midfielder Bridget Horst '26 earned Second Team honors. This recognition for five players ties the program record for most All-NESCAC selections in a single season, reflecting the team's competitive spirit and skill throughout the year.
