The Hamilton College men's lacrosse team, ranked No. 17 nationally, concluded its season on May 9 with a 14-10 defeat to St. Lawrence University in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Continentals, who finished the season with a record of 9-8, struggled to maintain momentum after a competitive first half. St. Lawrence took control in the third quarter, scoring six consecutive goals that shifted the game in their favor. Despite the loss, Hamilton's appearance in the NCAA tournament marked a significant achievement following their at-large bid after a tough semifinal defeat in the NESCAC championship.
In track and field, four Hamilton athletes competed at the Ithaca College In-Between Meet on May 9. Jack Quinn '27 led the way by winning the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.39, while Ellis Goodson '27 finished seventh in the same event, breaking the two-minute mark for the first time this spring. Ian Fisher '29 secured second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.42 seconds, and Jeremy Bywater '27 narrowly missed his personal best in the 1,500-meter run, finishing seventh with a time of 4:05.81. The team now looks ahead to the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships at Ursinus College on May 13-14.
In golf, Ramon Aroca Gonzalez '26 and Jake Hendelman '28 earned All-NESCAC honors, with Aroca Gonzalez being named to the first team and Hendelman to the second team. Aroca Gonzalez, a standout in the conference, has now received four first-team selections and was previously recognized as NESCAC Golfer of the Year in 2023 and 2025. His consistent performance included a third-place finish at the conference championship, and he led the team with an impressive stroke average of 73.00.
Hamilton College's rowing team participated in the NESCAC Championships on May 10 at Lake Quinsigamond, where they aimed to build on their recent successes. The women's team had previously been ranked 11th in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division III poll and was looking to improve upon their sixth-place finish at the New York State Collegiate Championships.
Additionally, two Hamilton hockey players, Lilly Truchon '26 and Luke Tchor '27, were recognized by the Kiwanis Club of Utica for their outstanding achievements in athletics and academics. Truchon, a midfielder for the field hockey team, was honored for her contributions to a historic season, while Tchor represented the men's hockey program. Their recognition highlights the strong academic and athletic culture at Hamilton College, which continues to foster excellence across various sports.
