Bucknell baseball clinches a spot in the Patriot League Championship series after sweeping Navy in the semifinals, winning 6-4 in the decisive game on May 11. The Bison, who last hosted the championship in 2014, will face Holy Cross at Depew Field from May 18-20. Brady Hoar delivered a strong performance on the mound, while Everett Garber secured the victory with three innings of relief. Hadley Maxwell's 11th save of the season ties him for the single-season record at Bucknell, and he is just one save away from breaking the all-time career saves record.
In men's tennis, seniors Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega and Will Robinson earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, recognizing their achievements both on the court and in the classroom. Bain, who played through injuries this season, finished with an overall record of 11-14, while Robinson has been a consistent contributor throughout his career. Their selection highlights the balance of athletic and academic excellence at Bucknell.
The women’s tennis team also celebrated academic success, placing four student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team. Seniors Abby Platt and Mirra Manolov, along with sophomores Riley Jennings and Cameron King, were recognized for their academic achievements, each maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Platt, who was recently named First Team All-Patriot League, concluded her career with impressive records in both singles and doubles, solidifying her legacy in Bucknell's tennis history.
