The Babson College men's lacrosse team continues its strong postseason run, defeating No. 16 St. Lawrence University 14-8 in the NCAA Tournament third round on Sunday. Senior Bennett Smith led the Beavers with four goals, while junior Andrew Almquist contributed three goals and two assists. This victory secures Babson's place in the NCAA quarterfinals, marking a significant achievement for the program.
In women's tennis, the No. 5 Beavers faced a challenging match against No. 12 Middlebury in the NCAA Tournament regional final, ultimately falling 5-2. This defeat ends Babson's run in the tournament, but senior Matia Cristiani's earlier performances were noteworthy, as she set new single-season program records for doubles and combined wins during the team's 4-0 victory over No. 39 Stevens in the second round.
The Babson baseball team reached the NEWMAC Tournament final after a thrilling 7-5 victory over top-ranked Salve Regina, thanks to junior Ryan Liss's two-run homer in the ninth inning. The Beavers, who entered the final as the lone unbeaten team, will face either Salve Regina or MIT for the conference title, needing just one win to secure their second NEWMAC championship in three years.
In track and field, Babson athletes shone at the Williams College Farley Inter Regional meet. Sophomore Amrit Rehal broke her own program record in the women's high jump, while graduate student Skyler Mott, sophomore Aithan Bezanson, and first-year Brady Kirtland all secured top-five finishes in their respective events. Bezanson also excelled in the decathlon, sitting in first place after the first day of competition.
The Babson softball team concluded its season after a 5-2 loss to Coast Guard in the NEWMAC Tournament elimination game. Despite a strong effort from sophomore Hayden Reilly, who recorded three hits and two RBIs, the Beavers were unable to extend their tournament run, finishing the season with a commendable effort.
