Yale men's hockey faced a challenging end to its season, losing its final two games. The Bulldogs fell to Union College in a close overtime match on February 28, losing 5-4 despite a strong offensive performance that saw Kalen Szeto and David Chen score, along with a notable effort from Elan Bar-Lev-Wise. The following day, Yale lost to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 4-2, concluding the regular season with an overall record of 8-21-1 and 7-14-1 in ECAC Hockey play. Amidst these setbacks, senior captain David Chen was honored as the ECAC Hockey Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, marking a significant achievement as he becomes the first Yale player to receive this accolade since its inception in 2007.
In women's basketball, the Bulldogs concluded their home season on a high note with a 57-45 victory against Cornell on Senior Day. Kiley Capstraw, the team's captain and only senior, led the charge with a double-double, contributing significantly to Yale's strong defensive effort that limited Cornell's shooting. Earlier in the week, however, Yale struggled against Columbia, losing 68-47 after initially leading by double digits. The Bulldogs now hold a record of 6-19 overall and 2-10 in Ivy League play, with their season winding down as they prepare for their final games next week.
