Junior swimmer Kelly Byrne has been named the Bison of the Week after an impressive showing at the 2026 Patriot League Championships, where she secured a gold medal in the 400 individual medley and a bronze in the 1650 freestyle. Byrne's victory in the 400 IM came with a personal-best time of 4:16.24, which ranks second in Bucknell history. She also set three new top-10 times for the program during the championships, contributing to the women's swimming and diving team's third-place finish overall. Following the championships, Byrne, along with teammates Clara Renner, Sydney Dettmann, and Tori Castro, earned All-Patriot League honors, with Byrne and Renner making the First Team and Dettmann and Castro being named to the Second Team.
Meanwhile, the Bucknell women's basketball team is gearing up for a pivotal game against Lehigh on February 28. Currently tied for sixth in the Patriot League standings, the Bison will look to improve their positioning ahead of the conference tournament. Bucknell holds a narrow historical edge over Lehigh in their series, leading 52-51, but the Mountain Hawks have won the last three encounters, including a decisive 74-43 victory earlier this season. The upcoming match at Sojka Pavilion is crucial for both teams as they aim to secure a favorable playoff spot.
