Colgate's men's basketball team enters the postseason with momentum, having secured a third seed in the Patriot League tournament. The Raiders will host sixth-seeded Loyola in a quarterfinal matchup on Thursday, marking the start of their quest for a sixth NCAA tournament appearance since 2019. This week also saw significant individual honors for the team, with first-year forward Andrew Alekseyenko being named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and earning spots on the Second Team and All-Rookie Team. Junior guard Jalen Cox received First-Team All-League recognition and was also named to the All-Defensive Team. Additionally, junior forward Sam Wright was recognized for his academic achievements, making the Academic All-Patriot League team for his performance both on the court and in the classroom.
In track and field, the Raiders concluded their indoor season at the Patriot League Championships held in Boston. Both Kiran George and Melinda Haagensen excelled, capturing silver medals in their respective events. Haagensen also received her second consecutive Academic All-Patriot League selection, highlighting her dual commitment to athletics and academics. The Raiders' strong performances in Boston mark a promising end to their indoor campaign as they look ahead to the outdoor season.
