Army West Point hockey sophomores JJ Cataldo and Jack Ivey have been recognized for their performances this season, with Cataldo earning a spot on the First Team All-Atlantic Hockey America and Ivey being named to the Second Team. Cataldo's selection marks his first All-AHA honor, while Ivey, who was previously named to the All-Rookie Team, continues to build on his strong collegiate career. Head coach Zach McKelvie praised Cataldo's consistency and leadership, emphasizing his pivotal role in the team's success throughout the season.
In wrestling, Braden Basile has been selected as an at-large qualifier for the NCAA Championships, set to take place from March 19-21 in Cleveland. This marks Basile's second appearance at the NCAA Championships after qualifying two years ago. He secured his spot following a fourth-place finish at the EIWA Championships, where he notably defeated Drexel's Jordan Soriano in the quarterfinals. Basile joins teammates Ethan Berginc, Gunner Filipowicz, and Brady Colbert, who qualified automatically at the EIWA, bringing Army's total representation to four wrestlers at the national level.
Meanwhile, the Army West Point men's golf team concluded play at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, finishing 14th out of 15 teams with a total score of 886 (+46). Tyson Sparks and Drew Jeffords led the Black Knights, both tying for 34th place with scores of 217 (+7). Sparks highlighted his performance with a second-round score of 68 (-2), marking his third under-par round of the spring season. The team will look to improve in their upcoming tournaments as the season progresses.
