The Babson College men's basketball team saw its season come to an end in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, falling to top-ranked Trinity College, 71-61, on March 8 in Hartford, Connecticut. Despite a strong performance from sophomore Timmy Mulvey, who led the team with 17 points, the Beavers could not hold onto a 10-point lead in the second half. Earlier in the tournament, Babson secured a thrilling 71-67 victory over Saint Joseph's College of Maine, where senior Timmy O'Toole contributed 18 points and Mulvey hit a crucial go-ahead three-pointer late in the game. This marked Babson's third NEWMAC championship in four years, earning them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
In men's ice hockey, Babson faced No. 15 Norwich University in the inaugural Little East Conference (LEC) tournament final on March 8. The Beavers were unable to secure the title, losing 4-1 despite a commendable 31-save performance from junior Sami Molu. Norwich scored two goals in both the first and third periods, effectively sealing Babson's fate in the championship match. This defeat concludes Babson's run in the LEC tournament, but the Beavers have shown resilience throughout the season, competing at a high level against formidable opponents.
