Williams College wrestling has reached a historic milestone, finishing ninth at the NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championship, the best result in program history. Interim head coach Tom Foote was named Rookie Coach of the Year, leading the Ephs to their first individual national champion, Peter Kane, who triumphed in the 157-pound weight class. Additionally, Jamie Evarts secured third place at 184 pounds, and Caleb Seyfried earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish at 149 pounds. This success follows a strong performance at the Regionals, where the Ephs also achieved their best-ever finish, placing second.
In swimming and diving, both the men’s and women’s teams are set to compete at the NCAA Division III Championship, each sending 11 athletes to Indianapolis. The men’s team, ranked No. 8, will be represented by notable swimmers including Calder Biondi and Michael Grover, while the No. 6-ranked women’s team features athletes such as Lily Codd and Emma Dimter. Both teams look to build on their successful seasons at this prestigious event, which runs from Wednesday to Saturday.
On the basketball front, sophomore guard Micah Walton has earned recognition for her outstanding performance this season, being named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 1 Third Team and the NEWBA All-Region Fourth Team. Walton played a pivotal role in leading the Ephs to the semifinals of the NESCAC Tournament, averaging impressive scoring and rebounding numbers throughout the season. She continues to be a key player for Williams as they reflect on a competitive year.
