The Lafayette College women's basketball program is undergoing a significant transition as head coach Kia Damon-Olson will not return after nine seasons at the helm. Damon-Olson's tenure included a 92-161 overall record and a notable high point in the 2019-20 season when the team finished 15-14. The search for her successor has begun, with the athletic department aiming to find a leader who can advance the program and foster student-athlete development. In a positive note for the program, three Leopards have been recognized for their academic achievements, as junior Teresa Kiewiet and senior Sauda Ntaconayigize earned their second consecutive selections to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team, while junior Rosie Scoganmiglio received her first honor. Kiewiet, who boasts a 4.0 cumulative GPA, also shone on the court, finishing the season with 457 points, ranking eighth on Lafayette's single-season scoring list. Ntaconayigize concluded her career as the program's all-time leader in three-point shooting percentage, further highlighting the academic and athletic prowess of the team.
In addition to the coaching change and academic honors, Lafayette Athletics has opened registration for the 2026 Maroon Club Golf Outing, set to take place on June 22 at Northampton Country Club. Last year's event successfully raised over $100,000 for the Maroon Club Excellence Fund, which supports various athletic programs at Lafayette. The outing will feature a shotgun start and a banquet dinner, with early registration encouraged to secure participation in this popular fundraising event.
