Bucknell University women's basketball players Isabella Casey and Reese Zemitis have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Casey, a sophomore political science major, played in all 30 games this season, starting 29, and averaged 7.5 points and 3.9 assists per game. She notably scored a career-high 19 points against Holy Cross. Zemitis also made significant contributions to the team, meeting the criteria for this prestigious academic honor, which requires a minimum GPA of 3.50 and substantial participation in games.
On the men's side, seniors Quin Berger and Achile Spadone received the same Academic All-District recognition. Berger, an economics major with a 3.84 GPA, returned from a knee injury to play in 30 games, contributing 94 points and 43 rebounds, including a career-high 18 points against Akron. Spadone, who has also excelled academically, helped lead the Bison to a strong fall semester in the classroom, with the team achieving a combined GPA of 3.35. Both players are recognized for their commitment to balancing academic and athletic responsibilities, a hallmark of Bucknell's student-athlete ethos.
In addition to these individual honors, Bucknell's athletic community is participating in One Herd One Day, an initiative aimed at supporting Bison student-athletes. This event underscores the university's commitment to fostering both academic and athletic excellence among its student body.
