Annie Barrett, assistant coach of the New York University women's basketball team, has been recognized as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III Assistant Coach of the Year. In her fifth season with the Violets, Barrett played a pivotal role in guiding the team to its fifth consecutive University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship and a third straight NCAA Final Four appearance. The Violets concluded their regular season with a perfect 25-0 record, setting a Division III record for the most consecutive wins. This success was complemented by individual accolades for players Caroline Peper and Brooke Batchelor, who were named UAA Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively.
In wrestling, Alexander Diaz has been named the UAA Wrestler of the Year after an impressive season that saw him finish with a 33-1 record at 125 pounds. Diaz's performance included a strong showing at the NCAA Championships, where he secured third place in his weight class. He contributed significantly to the Violets' fourth-place finish in the team standings, a program record. Diaz also helped NYU clinch its third consecutive UAA Championship, earning bonus points in both of his bouts, including a pin against Case Western Reserve University. His season was marked by victories at the Ned McGinley Invite, Racich Rumble, NYS Collegiate Championships, and NCAA Northeast Regionals.
Additionally, four NYU student-athletes received weekly honors for their performances. Kaley McIntyre from women's swimming and diving was named UAA Athlete of the Week after leading the Violets to their first team National Championship, winning individual titles in the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle events. Meanwhile, men's golf's Tanmay Chandra, along with women's golf's Jiayi Fu and Inha Jun, earned accolades from the Liberty League, with Chandra and Jun being named Rookies of the Week.
