The Lafayette College track and field teams showcased their talents at two separate meets over the weekend, achieving notable personal bests and all-time performances. At the All-American Meet in East Stroudsburg, freshman Kennedy Miller won the hammer throw with a distance of 152 feet 11 inches and secured second place in the shot put, marking the eighth-best throw in program history at 41 feet 3.75 inches. Classmate Ava Reese also made her mark, placing third in the shot put with a throw of 41 feet 2.25 inches, which ranks tenth all-time at Lafayette. Senior Isabella Allen contributed to the team's success with a third-place finish in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10 feet 6.25 inches. On the track, sophomore Lilly Bradfield and junior Gabby Buber finished second and third, respectively, in the 400 meters, clocking in at 57.93 and 58.03 seconds. Senior Julianne Gallo added a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, while junior Bridget Shaver took third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:55.17. For the men, junior John Liedtka won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.90 seconds, and classmate Harrison Rosen earned two second-place finishes in the 100 meters and 200 meters.
In men's lacrosse, Lafayette faced a challenging matchup against Colgate, ultimately falling 11-8 in a tightly contested conference game. Sophomore Benjamin DiBattista continued to impress, scoring two goals to bring his season total to 31, marking at least two goals in eight games this season. The Leopards initially responded well to an early Colgate goal, with Billy Irish netting his third goal in two games to tie the score at 1-1. However, Colgate regained control, leading 4-3 at halftime after a back-and-forth second quarter. Despite winning eight of nine faceoffs in the first half, Lafayette could not capitalize on their opportunities. The team will look to regroup in their next matchup.
