The Bucknell men's rowing team delivered a commanding performance against conference rivals in a recent competition held on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. The varsity 8, ranked second nationally, secured victories over Lehigh and ninth-ranked George Washington, winning by nine and eight seconds, respectively. The second varsity 8 also triumphed against both Lehigh and GW, while the third varsity 8 achieved an impressive open water victory over Lehigh's third varsity. The freshman 8 and fourth varsity faced GW's third varsity and managed to secure a strong win as well. This dominant showing sets a positive tone as the team prepares for future regattas.
In football, nine Bucknell student-athletes have been honored by the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society for their academic achievements. The honorees include Alex Brown, Kieran Coscia, Aaron Davis, Charlie Kreinbucher, John Ohnegian, Ralph Rucker IV, Ashton Sempervive, Daniel Sierk, and Terian Williams II. This recognition highlights Bucknell's commitment to academic excellence, as the university is one of only 23 institutions to have had at least one honoree each year since the society's inception in 2007.
The Bucknell men's golf team concluded its participation in the Wildcat/Fazio Invitational at Galloway National Golf Club, finishing 12th after a challenging final round. The Bison posted a team score of 323, hampered by an injury withdrawal that left them without the option to drop a low score. Jack Hartman and Taylor Kuehn led the team with final-round scores of 77, while James Robbins and Hayden Quinn followed with scores of 81 and 88, respectively. Bucknell will return to competition on April 11 for a match-play event against Holy Cross at the West Point Golf Course.
In swimming and diving, eight athletes from the men's and women's teams earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. The women's honorees include Jennifer Bolden, Kelly Byrne, Sydney Dettmann, and Clara Renner, while the men's team features Braden Beagle, James Lombardi, Finn Franks, and Caleb Hagadorn.
