The Army West Point women's track and field team achieved a significant milestone by defeating Navy 108-95 in the outdoor Star Meet, marking their first victory in this competition in 12 years. Freshman Simone Tillman played a pivotal role in this success, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.05, the fastest in Army history under all-conditions. She also excelled in the 400-meter, finishing second with a time of 54.29, which is tied for the best mark in the Patriot League this season. Additionally, Tillman contributed to the winning efforts in the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays, helping the Black Knights secure crucial points in the overall meet. Her performance earned her the Patriot League Track and Field Rookie of the Week honor for the third time this season.
In men's golf, Tyson Sparks garnered recognition as the Patriot League Golfer of the Week after a commendable performance at the Ford Collegiate in Richmond Hill, Georgia. Sparks finished the regular season with a one-under-par total of 209, placing 26th overall. He recorded three rounds at par or better, with scores of 70, 70, and 69. The Black Knights concluded the tournament in 12th place among a competitive field. Sparks and his teammates will next host the Patriot League Championships at West Point from April 24-26, aiming to build on their recent successes.
