In an elimination game against Trinity on Sunday, the Mammoths entered the final frame trailing 9-6 but erupted for seven runs to secure a 13-10 victory. This win sent them to the championship against Tufts, where they battled fiercely but ultimately fell 16-8, concluding their season with a 26-14 record. The Mammoths await the NCAA Division III selection show for potential at-large bids.
In women's tennis, the Mammoths faced a tough end to their season, falling to the fourth-ranked Wesleyan University in the NCAA Round of 16. Amherst started strong, claiming the doubles point with a win at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, but could only secure one singles victory from Tina She, losing the match 4-2. The team finishes the season with a record of 13-8. Meanwhile, four members of the women's tennis team were recognized as College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections, including senior Sophie Diop, who also earned All-NESCAC Second Team honors this season.
On the men's side, four players also received Academic All-District honors, highlighted by senior George Chaidemenos, who earned a First Team Singles nod after a strong 15-6 season. The academic achievements reflect the commitment of the Mammoths to both athletics and academics.
In women's golf, the Mammoths celebrated significant accomplishments as first-year Emma Lindemoen was named NESCAC Co-Rookie of the Year, and Head Coach Elizabeth Geene was honored as Coach of the Year. Lindemoen and three teammates earned All-NESCAC honors, contributing to a successful season that included a third NESCAC Championship for the program. The men's golf team also saw success, with three players, Jan Ebbinge, Andre Zhang, and Thomas Zhang, earning PING All-Region One honors for their standout performances throughout the season.
In softball, sophomore Lulu Leppard received All-NESCAC First Team honors after an impressive season, leading her team with a .446 batting average and 27 RBIs. Despite the team's struggles, Leppard's individual achievements highlight her growth and potential as a key player for the Mammoths moving forward.
