Dartmouth College's softball program is undergoing a transition as head coach Jen Williams announced her resignation after eight seasons. Williams, who led the team to an Ivy League Tournament appearance in 2024, compiled a 99-145 overall record, including a balanced 62-62 in Ivy League play. In her tenure, she mentored over 30 All-Ivy honorees and expressed gratitude for her time at Dartmouth, emphasizing the strength of the team and support staff. In baseball, senior Milo Suarez and women's track and field standout Andie Murray were named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week. Suarez excelled at the plate, achieving a .545 batting average over the weekend, including a solo home run in the first game of a doubleheader. Meanwhile, Murray shone at the Battle Road Meet at MIT, winning the 800m with a time of 2:06.26, which also earned her Ivy League Athlete of the Week honors. These performances highlight the strong finish for both teams as they approach their respective championship seasons.
The men's tennis team saw three of its student-athletes, Miles Groom, Henry Ren, and Leo Pade, earn CSC Academic All-District honors for their academic and athletic achievements. Groom and Ren, both recognized for the second time, contributed significantly to the team's success this season, with Groom achieving a 23-7 singles record and Ren contributing to a doubles ranking as high as 24th nationally. Pade, with 18 wins in singles, adds to the team's academic accolades, showcasing the balance of scholarship and sport at Dartmouth.
The women's tennis program also celebrated academic success, with juniors Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore, along with sophomores Sam Grosjean and Elise Wong, earning CSC Academic All-District honors. Capuano concluded her season with a 12-4 singles record, demonstrating her prowess on the court. This recognition underscores the commitment of Dartmouth's student-athletes to excel both academically and athletically.
In rowing, the women's team is gearing up for the Ivy League Championships after a successful showing at the Women's Eastern Sprints, where they secured three runner-up finishes. The team will look to build on this momentum as they compete in the Ivy Championships this weekend. Meanwhile, the sailing team prepares for the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship, having last competed at the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship, where they finished sixth. The team aims for a strong performance in Florida as they seek to improve upon last year's tenth-place finish.
Dartmouth's football program concluded its spring practices with the annual spring game, held indoors due to weather conditions. Head coach Sammy McCorkle praised the team's effort and execution, highlighting the offensive and defensive performances during the scrimmage. The Big Green will now focus on preparations for the upcoming season, beginning with their opener against Lehigh on September 19.
