Washington and Lee University's men's lacrosse team faced a heartbreaking end to its season in the NCAA Division III Round of 16, losing to fifth-ranked Christopher Newport University, 13-12, on May 14. The Generals, ranked 13th, rallied late in the game after trailing by two goals with just over five minutes remaining. James Haley's goal brought them within one, but despite a final push and a last-second shot from Garrett Ferguson, they could not equalize, as CNU's goalie Mason Bellinger secured the win with a pair of critical saves in the dying seconds.

On the women's side, senior Lauren Long captured her fourth consecutive ODAC Player of the Year award, and head coach Erin Ness received her tenth ODAC Coach of the Year honor. Long, who boasts a 14-3 singles record, is also set to compete in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship.

Additionally, junior Reese Brown shattered her own record in the 3,000m steeplechase, further solidifying her standout season. The Generals continue to prepare for upcoming competitions as they look to build on these achievements.
