Shaw, Ratcheson Win Season's Final Ivy Weekly Honors

Junior Cassidy Shaw is the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week and first-year Maddie Ratcheson is the Ivy Rookie of the Week in the final weekly awards of the season.

Across 12 regular-season weeks of softball in the Ivy, Princeton players won 11 Ivy League weekly honors, with Shaw twice being named Ivy Pitcher of the Week and Ratcheson being named Ivy Rookie of the Week three times, with two of those awards for Ratcheson coming over the last two weeks of the regular season. Seven Tigers earned an Ivy weekly honor this season, with Shaw and Ratcheson joining Mia Valenzuela, Reece Uehara, Braeden Hale, Graciela Dominguez and Brielle Wright. Princeton earned weekly honors in eight of the 12 weeks, including in each of the last four weeks.

Shaw appeared in all three games of Princeton's weekend series against Dartmouth, throwing 11 1/3 innings with an 0.62 ERA. She allowed just one run on nine hits and one walk while striking out eight, earning the win in Princeton's 8-1 victory in the series opener.

Ratcheson hit .600/.600/.900 in the Dartmouth series, going 6 for 10 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. She had a hit in all three games, including a two-run homer in Princeton's 8-1 win in the series opener, and drove in runs in two of the three games.

Princeton will host the Ivy League Tournament this weekend, with the top-seeded Tigers set to open against fourth-seeded Brown on Thursday at noon.
