Kai Daniells Named Laurel Lake Placid ECAC Forward Of The Week

Fittingly, Daniells has been named Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Week by the ECAC for his efforts.

Daniells had an assist in Princeton's 5-2 win in Game One before ratcheting up his presence on the scoresheet with a hat trick and an assist as part of a four-point night in Game Two as the Tigers secured a second 5-2 win and closed out the series.

Daniells had the game-winner on Saturday night, breaking a 2-2 tie in the third period, before adding an insurance empty-netter to close out the victory. The GWG was his fifth of the season which is No. 2 among ECAC players and No. 7 in the country.

The hat trick was his second of the season -- the other a five-goal game against St. Lawrence in November. He is one of two players in the ECAC with multiple hat tricks this season, the other being Dartmouth's Hayden Stavroff. They are tied for No. 2 among all Division I players behind only Matt DiMarsico of Penn State who has three.

Daniells is now No. 11 in the country in goals-per-game (0.59) and No. 20 in points-per-game (1.16) as the Tigers prepare for the ECAC semifinals against Cornell in Lake Placid. Tickets for the 2026 ECAC Championship are on sale now and can be purchase
