PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Dartmouth men's lacrosse fell 17-16 in overtime to Brown on Saturday afternoon.

Brown opened the game with goals at the at 14:52 and 13:51 marks to take a 2-0 lead just 1:09 into the game. The Big Green responded with four straight goals to end the opening quarter.

Max Voigt scored at the 13:30 mark to get the Big Green on the board before Stu Gates tied the game at two at the 10:35 mark. Alex Jessey gave the Big Green the 3-2 lead at the 8:10 mark and Emmett Paradine gave Dartmouth 4-2 lead to close the frame.

Both teams scored four times in the second quarter as Dartmouth took an 8-6 lead to the halftime break. Brown scored the first goal of the second quarter before Jessey and Thomas Power scored 30 seconds apart to give Dartmouth a 6-3 lead. The Bears got one back, but Jessey responded just 11 seconds later to regain the three goal lead. After Brown scored a pair, Jessey scored his fourth goal of the game to give Dartmouth the 8-6 lead ahead of the halftime break.

The third quarter saw 11 combined goals with the Big Green outscoring Brown 7-4. The Bears scored the first goal of the third quarter but the Big Green rattled off five straight goals to build their lead. Gates scored the first goal to make it 9-7 before Monte Mitchell and Power scored 50 seconds apart to make it a four goal lead. Power scored 14 seconds later before Emmett Pardine scored at the 9:45 mark. Brown stopped the Dartmouth run with a goal at the 7:46 mark, but the Big Green responded with back-to-back goals at the 6:23 and 5:03 marks to make it 15-8. Brown scored twice to cut the Dartmouth lead to 15-10 heading to the fourth quarter.

Brown stormed back in the fourth quarter as they scored at the 6:56 mark to tie the game at 16. The Bears took the 16-15 lead at the 3:00 mark but Power scored with 35 seconds left in regulation to tie the game.

The Bears had the lone shot of overtime as they scored at the 3:29 mark of the first overtime session.

Power and Jessey combined for 13 points as Jessey had five goals and an assist while Power notched four goals and three assists. Gates tallied three goals while Paradine scored twice.

Max Becker made 12 saves in the loss; he has made 120 saves this season as he is 4-6 in his first year at Dartmouth.

The Big Green forced 23 Brown turnovers with eight being caused turnovers. Jack Mulholland had a team best four caused turnovers while Thomas Goguen had a pair. Mulholland had four groundballs while Gates, Goguen, Power, and Spencer Reagan each had three.

Dartmouth returns to Scully-Fahey Field for the final time in 2026 on Saturday, April 18 as Cornell travels to Hanover for a 3:30 PM faceoff.
