Men's Lacrosse Falls To No. 18 Yale

HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth men's lacrosse fell to No. 18 Yale on Saturday on Autism Awareness Day at Scully-Fahey Field. The Bulldogs came away with an 18-7 win over the Big Green.

It was Dartmouth who opened the scoring just 1:28 into the game as Emmett Paradine scored his seventh goal of the season. William Stahl picked up his third assist of the season on the play.

Yale scored the next four goals and held a 4-1 lead after the opening quarter.

Paradine scored his second goal of the game at the 11:16 of the second quarter while there were seven combined goals in the quarter. After Yale got the goal back, Stahl and Nick Moore scored back-to-back goals to make it a 5-4 Yale lead. The Bulldogs responded with three straight goals to take an 8-4 lead to halftime.

Stahl and Thomas Vandenberg scored just a minute apart to open the third quarter as Dartmouth looked for a comeback. Despite the early Dartmouth goals, Yale scored four straight goals before Vandenberg bookended the quarter with his second goal at the 3:52 mark.

Yale held Dartmouth off the scoreboard in the fourth quarter and added six goals to close out the game with an 18-7 final.

Max Becker started in net for Dartmouth and made 13 saves, Kevin Bryan played the final five minutes and made one save on two shots.

Stahl had a team best three points while scoring twice and adding an assist. Alex Jessey added pair of assists while Vandenberg and Paradine also notched a pair of points.

On the defensive side, Jesse Phelan tallied three caused turnovers while scooping up two groundballs. Dartmouth was credited with 12 caused turnovers, Matthew Scheible accounted for two of them while nine players recorded a caused turnover.

Spencer Reagan won 12 faceoffs while collecting a team high six groundballs. Thomas Goguen collected four groundballs as Dartmouth had 29 on the day.

The Big Green hit the road and head south next weekend to Providence, R.I. to take on Brown. The Big Green take on the Bears on Saturday, April 11 at Noon.
