Tarzy Garners Men’s Golf Academic All-Patriot League Honors
BETHLEHEM, PA. // Team captain Jack Tarzy (Sr / Medford, N.J.) was one of six student-athletes named to the 2026 Academic All-Patriot League Men's Golf Team it was announced by the league office. Tarzy is the seventh different Navy golfer (Peter Reilly 2011, '12 / Chris House 2013, '14 / Connor Tallman 2016, '17 / Nicholas Klock 2021 / Keegan Shreves 2022, '23 / Benjamin Valdez 2024, '25) to earn the citation and the fifth to earn the award multiple times. A Navy golfer has been honored 12 times since the award was established in 2011.

A standout in the classroom, Tarzy owns a 3.21 grade-point average as a quantitative economics major and has been recognized four times on the Commandant's List, while also earning Superintendent's and Dean's List mention.
Tarzy, a 2026 First-Team All-Patriot League selection, has been sensational this year. He has placed among the top 10 in five tournaments, including winning a remarkable four events between the fall and spring seasons. He is second on the team in stroke average with a 72.56 over 32 rounds.
After opening the season the prestigious Folds of Honor Collegiate, Tarzy went on to win three-consecutive tournaments - The Goat (66-71-68=205 / -8), the Commander-In-Chief's Cup (77-72-74=223 / +13) and the Nassau Intercollegiate (73-73-66=212 / +2). Meanwhile, in between the Commander-In-Chief's Cup and the Nassau Intercollegiate, Tarzy captained the Mids' win over Army in the annual Star Match played in Annapolis. He earned his first singles win in four appearances in the battle between the two rivals, while the win marked the school's 1,200th victory against Army in the all-time overall series.
Tarzy returned in the spring to win his fourth tournament of the season with a 5-under par 208 (68-68-72) at the Golden Horseshoe Open and followed up with an eighth-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational (74-72-77=223 / +10). He opened the Patriot League Championship with low round of the first round (71) and went on to place 18th (71-78-74=223 / +13). He is now ranked 373rd in the country.
Five of the eight Patriot League institutions sponsoring varsity men's golf programs were represented on the academic team, including First-Team All-Patriot League performers Eli Spaulding of Loyola, who was named the Patriot League Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Jackson Roman of Loyola and Tarzy.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in their sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
