HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Cardinals tallied the contest's first two goals. Gavin Lechner cashed in a feed from Tyler Vitale with 12:23 showing on the first-quarter clock before Ben Burns capitalized on an extra-player chance on a side-winding shot with 7:32 to go.

  • Ged Gengras got the Panthers on the board with 9:33 expired, firing a low shot that snuck between the left post and Wesleyan goalie Conor Selfridge's stick to cut the margin to 2-1.

  • Cooper Mendelsohn (4:53) and Will Miller (3:32) helped the hosts open up a 4-1 advantage over the ensuing minutes.

  • Will Ford found a gap in the middle and one-timed a pass from Gengras over the line with 2:39 left, but Kyle Short tacked on an unassisted marker to make it a 5-2 contest at the initial quarter's conclusion.

  • Short sent a bid to the back of the net with 1:57 expired in the second stanza. Burns followed with a goal aided by Short at the 6:21 mark to establish a 7-2 score.

  • With 8:14 to play before the break, Logan White found a tip-toeing Ford on the edge of the crease for a quick finish into the right panel (7-3).

  • Cooper DeMallie entered the goal column three minutes later, depositing a skip pass from Charlie O'Connor on the back post to trim the deficit to 7-4.

  • Wesleyan closed the frame with consecutive goals from Lechner (5:01) and Short (1:47) to carry a 9-4 line into the break.

  • Drew Zyskowski netted the 10th Cardinal marker with 6:08 elapsed, widening the lead to six.

  • Brady Boudreau collected a pass from Ryan McGloin in transition and darted upfield, absorbing a big hit to finish a bid into the left panel (10-5).

  • With 19 seconds left in the third quarter, Ford presented his stick in the center of the zone and plucked the top-left corner following a pass from White, making the score 10-6.

  • The hosts tallied the last four goals over the final quarter to secure the 14-6 result.

NOTES

  • With three assists in Saturday's matchup, White logged his 100th point in a Middlebury uniform.

  • Noah Filippelli won a career-high 17 faceoffs on 22 attempts and matched his best effort with 11 ground balls.

  • The sides squared off for the 60th time.
