LEWISTON, Maine — Fourteen different players scored as the Bates College women's lacrosse team powered past UMass Dartmouth, 20-7, in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Garcelon Field.

The Bobcats broke open a tight early contest with a dominant first quarter, scoring nine times in the opening 15 minutes to seize control of the game. Bates ultimately placed 24 shots on goal and held advantages in ground balls (28-19) and draw controls (16-13) in the victory.

After the Corsairs grabbed a brief 2-1 lead midway through the first quarter, Bates responded with an eight-goal surge to close the period. Goals from

The Bobcats continued to add to the margin in the second quarter, pushing the lead to 13-4 by halftime.

Bates maintained control in the second half, with
