Floyd Ties Pole Vault Record to Lead Men's Track & Field at Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's track & field team were represented by a pair of jumpers at the Gary Wieneke Memorial at the University of Illinois on Saturday afternoon.
William Floyd put up the best performance of his career as he tied the school record, clearing a mark of 5.10 meters. His jump was good for the third-best in the meet, tying a pair of Fighting Illini jumpers, and a fifth-place finish in the event. His mark is also the sixth-best in NCAA Division III this season.
Aryan Shrivastava tied his career-best mark in the High Jump with a mark of 2.00 meters in the event. Shrivastava earned a fourth-place finish with the third-best mark in UChicago history to defeat a trio of Division I athletes.
The University of Chicago men's track and field team will continue their last chance meets next weekend as the Maroons travel to St. Francis (IL) for the Fighting Chance Invite.
