CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's track and field team two of the four major awards from the 2026 UAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as announced by the association office on Thursday morning.

Evan Parker earned UAA Men's Rookie of the Year honors after completing the distance sweep with UAA titles in both the 5000m Run and the 10000m Run. Parker opened his meet on Saturday by winning the 10000m Run with a career-best time as Parker shattered the UChicago Freshman Record with a time of 29:51.12. His time also ranked as the fourth-fastest in UChicago history after winning the race by nearly 25 seconds. Then, on Sunday, Parker won the 5000m Run with a time of 14:28.21, taking home the title by nearly 11 seconds.

Chris Hall and the rest of the UChicago coaching staff were also named the UAA Men's Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Maroons to their first UAA Outdoor Championship in program history and the first outdoor track and field championship since winning the Big Ten title in 1917, snapping a 109-year drought. The Maroons also completed their first indoor-outdoor sweep in program history after the men won the indoor title back in February.

The University of Chicago men's track and field team continues the outdoor regular season this weekend as two athletes will travel to the University of Illinois on Saturday for the first of three last chance meets.
