Men's Track & Field Wins Eight Events to Take First at Wheaton Invite
WHEATON -- The University of Chicago men's track and field team earned a first-place finish at the Wheaton 'Don Church' Twilight Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons earned eight event wins and 17 top-two finishes in the meet.
WHEATON -- The University of Chicago men's track and field team earned a first-place finish at the Wheaton 'Don Church' Twilight Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons earned eight event wins and 17 top-two finishes in the meet.
Paul Sackman had the best performance of the meet for UChicago as the graduate transfer swept the sprint events with two of the top times in UChicago history. Sackman won the 100m Dash with the second-best time in school history at 10.43, trailing only the school record of 10.34 set in 1957. Sackman also won the 200m Dash with a time of 21.56 that ranks fourth in UChicago history.
Owen Mays also won a pair of events for the Maroons as he swept the hurdles events. Mays won the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.25, and he brought home the 400m Hurdles title with a time of 58.48.
Michael Nelson won the only field event of the day for the Maroons as he won the Javelin Throw with a mark of 49.25 meters.
Quint Stein was the final individual event winner of the day for UChicago as he won the 800m Run with a time of 1:54.99.
UChicago also won a pair of relays as the team of

Morrison Giggetts, and
Paul Sackman won the 4x100m Relay with a time of 42.14 that ranks eighth in UChicago history and the team of
Peter Dickinson,
Nathaniel Stuit,
Matt Koffman, and
Owen Mays won the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:25.71.
The Maroons will return to action next weekend as they travel to Cleveland for the 2026 UAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on April 25-26.
