Cornell Men Post Solid Day 1 at Larry Ellis Invitational

Sophomore Peter Northrup delivered one of the day's top efforts, placing fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 61.25m. Freshman Aidan Kerr also competed in the event, finishing 17th at 50.94m.
In the throws, freshman Joe Seib turned in an impressive performance in the discus, placing fourth overall with a toss of 50.95m. Senior Joseph Rachiele added a sixth-place finish in the javelin at 56.30m.
Cornell saw success in the pole vault as well, with senior Kegan Mancabelli clearing 4.95m to take fifth place. Freshman Zachary Davidson followed in eighth at 4.75m.
On the track, sophomore Panashe Nhenga led the Big Red in the 200 meters, finishing ninth in 21.69. Junior Tyler Tisinger paced Cornell in the 800 meters with a ninth-place finish in 1:49.32, putting him at No. 9 in Cornell program history while freshman Edgar Thielens finished in 1:51.92, senior Finn Boyle finished in 1:53.06, and senior Elijah Schechter finished in 1:54.47.
Senior Tyler Canaday recorded an 11th-place finish in the 1500 meters, crossing the line in 3:48.48.
In distance events, junior Adam Martinson placed 16th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:11.08, followed by sophomore Colin Martens in 21st at 9:16.05.
Competition at the Larry Ellis Invitational will continue Saturday in Princeton, with events beginning at 11 a.m. Live results will be available on Leone Timing.
