No. 19 Ephs make journey to No. 3 Wesleyan for NESCAC Quarterfinals Saturday

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - After finishing the regular season with a 9-6 overall record and a 5-5 mark in the NESCAC, the No. 19-ranked Williams College women's lacrosse team earned the sixth seed in the NESCAC Tournament and will take on third-seeded and No. 3 Wesleyan in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament Saturday at noon on Smith Field in Middletown, Connecticut.

Savoy McMahon was fantastic in the fourth quarter, stopping all four shots and keeping the Mules off the scoreboard in the final 15 minutes.

Ella Ryan scored a hat trick during a 12-10 victory at then-No. 15 University of Scranton on March 24, as the Ephs outscored the hosts, 5-2, in the fourth quarter.

Donohue ranks first in the NESCAC in points (79) and points per game (5.27), second in goals (49) and goals per game (3.27) and third in assists (30) and assists per game (2.00). Senior captain and attack

Meaghan Day has compiled a team-leading 20 caused turnovers, while ranking second with 26 ground balls. Senior midfielder

Paige Nelson has done a little bit of everything, leading the team in ground balls (27) and also compiling 17 caused turnovers and 10 goals.

The Cardinals (13-2, 8-2 NESCAC) have defeated seven ranked opponents this season. Wesleyan has been balanced offensively, as Addie Cummings (34-12-46), Dylan Green (21-16-37) and Mya Waryas (23-11-34) have led the way. Lindsey Diomede leads the conference in caused turnovers (52), caused turnovers per game (3.47), ground balls (46) and ground balls per game (3.07).
