Men's Track and Field Compete at Emory Thrills in the Hills

ATLANTA, GA. - The Williams College men's track & field team competed at the Emory Thrills in the Hills this weekend, turning in a strong all-around performance this weekend, highlighted by multiple event wins, personal bests, and depth across distance and field events.

Williams was dominant in the distance events, led by

Keiyu Mamiya, who captured first place in the 1500m with a winning time of 3:52.47. The Ephs saw impressive depth in the event as

Zachary Liu-Walter placed fourth in 3:54.97, a personal best, while

Ryan Hardiman added a 10th-place finish in 4:00.24, also a personal record.

The momentum continued in the 5000m, where Williams packed the top of the standings.

Malcolm Oakes led the way with a third-place finish in 15:11.70, followed closely by

Luke Zanuck in fourth (15:15.18).

TJ Zwall (6th),

Avery Allen (7th), and

Liam O'Connor (8th) with a personal best of 15:25.54, while

Emil Nelson (12th) and

Jackson McFerron (15th, PR 15:38.13) added to the Ephs' depth.

In the 3000m steeplechase,

Henry Alexander delivered a standout performance, winning the event in 9:12.70 while setting a new personal best. Nikhil Denatale also impressed with a fourth-place finish in 9:39.62.

On the track, Williams saw solid performances in the sprints and middle distances.

Yanni Kakouris led the Ephs in the 100m with a ninth-place finish in 11.15, followed by

Eric He in 12th (11.19). In the 800 meters,

Tom Emery posted a time of 1:57.84 to place 22nd.

In the field events,

Vincent VanMaaren highlighted the day with a second-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.70 meters.

Jordan Davis added a sixth-place finish in the javelin (48.29m), while

Devesh Khamitkar recorded a personal best of 13.11 meters in the triple jump to place 10th.

The Ephs return to Massachusetts on April 11

th, as they compete at the UMass Flagship Invitational.
