HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 5-ranked Trinity College women's squash team (13-4) enters the College Squash Association (CSA) National Championships on Thursday, March 5, opening tournament play against NESCAC foe No. 12 Tufts University (11-7).

The Bantams have faced the Jumbos twice this season, earning a dominant 9-0 victory in their regular-season meeting before claiming an 8-1 win in the NESCAC Championship match on February 15 to secure the program's 19th consecutive conference title.

With a win on Thursday, Trinity will advance to face No. 4 Harvard University, which received a first-round bye and enters the tournament with an 8-3 record. The Bantams squared off against Harvard in January at the Kelner Squash Courts, where the Crimson handed Trinity a 7-2 defeat—one of just four losses this season.

Trinity's lineup features strong senior leadership across the ladder. Captain Hannah Chukwu anchors the No. 2 position, while co-captain Kara Lincou competes at No. 3 and Fabiola Cabello holds the No. 6 spot. Lincou has been named a finalist for the 2026 Betty Richey Award, presented annually to the player who best exemplifies the ideals of squash through sportsmanship, devotion to the game, excellence in play, and leadership.

Junior Varvara Esina and sophomores Varvara Kliueva and Elisenda Ruiz-Kaiser Furrer provide depth in the middle and lower half of the ladder, delivering consistent performances in the No. 4, No. 7, and No. 8 positions.

The Bantams also welcomed three impactful first-years to the roster this season: Thanusaa Uthrian, Malak Aly, and Doyce Lee. Uthrian has spent much of the season competing at the top of the ladder and advanced to the quarterfinals of the CSA Individual Championships. Lee has rotated through the No. 4 and No. 5 positions and captured the Pool E title at the CSA Individuals.
