McNichols Wins 10000m Run; Women's Track Tallies Four Podiums at Chicagoland Meet

ELMHURST -- The University of Chicago women's track and field team wrapped up the Chicagoland Championships on Saturday afternoon with four podium finishes and eight top-five results in the meet.

Eleanor McNichols put up the lone event win for the Maroons in the opening two days of competition as she won the 10000m Run with a time of 39:47.79.

Sylvia Snider and

Alexandra Lohse both recorded top-5 finishes in the 5000m Run on Friday. Snider finished in second with a time of 17:14.53 that ranks fourth in UChicago freshman history, and Lohse finished in fifth with a time of 17:49.08 that ranks sixth in UChicago freshman history.

Marina Semple put up the top performance in field events for the Maroons as she recorded a mark of 5.46 meters in the Long Jump in a third-place finish.

UChicago dominated the High Jump with three of the top five spots to round out its podium finishes in the meet.

Elizabeth Mulvaney hit a mark of 1.58 meters to finish in third place, and

Selah Dungey and

Clara Bennett both cleared the 1.53 meters mark to finish in fourth and fifth, respectively.

The Maroons will return to action next week as the Maroons travel to Wheaton for their final UAA Championship tune-up at the Don Church Invitational.
