Women's Track & Field Earns Four Top-4 Finishes at WashU

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's track and field team brought home four top-four finishes and four record book performances in the opening meet of the season.

Vivian Kelly won the lone event for the Maroons in the opening meet as the freshman won the 1500m Run with a time of 4:42.43. Her time ranks as the ninth-best time by a freshman in UChicago history.

Sylvia Snider also finished in second to complete the 1-2 finish in the 1500m Run.

Cyd Kennard rounded out the top-3 finishes for UChicago with a third-place finish in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:45.31.

Brooke Millar gave the Maroons their top finish in the field events as she finished in fourth with a mark of 5.16 meters in the Long Jump.

Juliet Winiecki put up a pair of record-book performances on Saturday as she ran the sixth-best time in program history in the 100m Hurdles and the eighth-best time in program history in the 400m Hurdles.

The team will return to action next week as the Maroons compete in the Wheaton Invitational on Tuesday, March 31. The meet has been moved up two days from Thursday to Tuesday due to incoming weather later in the week.
