Rhoads Named Coach of the Year; Three from Men’s Golf Earn All-Ivy Honors
The Bobby Jones '24 Coach for Harvard Men's Golf, Kevin Rhoads, was chosen unanimously as the Ivy League Coach of the Year and the Crimson's trio of sophomore took home spots on the two All-Ivy League teams.
PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2026 Ivy League Champion Harvard men's golf team was honored with four All-Ivy League awards today by the conference. The Bobby Jones '24 Coach for Harvard Men's Golf,
Kevin Rhoads, was chosen unanimously as the Ivy League Coach of the Year and the Crimson's trio of sophomore took home spots on the two All-Ivy League teams.
Barry Zhang was a unanimous selection to the All-Ivy League First Team and the duo of
William Ma and
Ieuan Jones earned spots on the All-Ivy League Second Team. The trio adds these awards to their trophy cases after earning spots on the All-Ivy League Championship team last weekend.
Harvard secured three All-Ivy honors for the second time in the past three seasons and tied for the second most honors in program history.
Kevin Rhoads was honored as the League's Coach of the Year after leading the Crimson to its first Ivy League Championship since 2017. A dedicated teacher of the game,
Rhoads mentored the team's three All-Ivy selections to career years and has helped Harvard secure eleven Ivy League titles in his 22 seasons in Cambridge (three for Harvard Men's Golf and eight for Harvard Women's Golf). He has also been named a Golf Digest Best in State Teacher on every list since 2012
, and was New England PGA Teacher of the Year in 2007 and 2013.
This season, the Crimson flourished under his leadership. Harvard secured three top three finishes in seven tournaments this season and impressively never finished below ninth in any competition. The highlight of the season came in the month of April, when Harvard posted back-to-back victories at the Princeton Invitational (Apr. 11-12) and the Ivy League Championship (Apr. 24-26). Overall, the team posted a 49-25-0 W-L-T record this season, one of the best marks in the Ivy League.
Sophomore
Barry Zhang was unanimously selected to the All-Ivy League First Team after capturing the Ivy League Individual Championship. A steady performer, Zhang posted a 72.2 scoring average which ranked in the top 7 in the Ivy League. The Florida native secured four top 25 finishes across seven tournaments this season. In addition to his Ivy League Championship victory, Zhang impressively came in 10
th place at the Georgetown Intercollegiate (Oct. 13-14) to cap off his Fall season. The nomination is Zhang's first career All-Ivy League honor.
Ieuan Jones lands on the All-Ivy League Second Team after a strong season with the Crimson in 2025-26. The Michigan native posted a 72.0 scoring average, which was the best on the team and among the five-best in the Ivy League. Jones never finished below 35
th in the seven tournaments he competed in and posted six top 20 finishes during the campaign. Jones' best result of the season came at the Ivy League Championship, where he finished in fourth place at the historic Baltusrol Golf Club to land on the All-Ivy League Championship Team.
William Ma earned a spot on the All-Ivy Second team for the second consecutive season after another strong year in Cambridge with the Crimson. Elected as the team captain in January, Ma led the Crimson to several impressive placements throughout the season. The California native posted a 73.1 scoring average across 20 competitive rounds this season while also securing four top 25 finishes. His best results of the season came in the form of a second-place finish at the Princeton Invitational (Apr. 17-18) and a fifth-place finish at the Ivy League Championship (Apr. 24-26). One of the best moments of the season for Harvard men's golf came courtesy of Ma at the Princeton Invitational, when he and
Morgan Riley both carded hole-in-ones at the Springdale Golf Club. It was the first time since at least 2010 a Harvard golfer recorded a hole-in-one in competition.
