Women’s Golf Finishes 12th at NCAA Stanford Regional

The Navy women's golf team concluded its season on Wednesday, finishing in 12th place after the third and final round of the NCAA Stanford Regional in Stanford, Calif.

STANFORD, Calif. – The Navy women's golf team concluded its season on Wednesday, finishing in 12th place after the third and final round of the NCAA Stanford Regional in Stanford, Calif.

Competing at the par-71, 6,267-yard Stanford Golf Course, the Midshipmen recorded a final-round score of 311 in stroke play to post a three-day tournament total of 65-over par 917, following up an opening-round 310 and a team-best 296 in the second round.

Sophomores

Vivian Cressman and

Megan Kirkpatrick paced the Navy squad with both finishing tied for 47th place, as both players carded a final-round 5-over par 76 to finish the tournament with matching 54-hole totals of 16-over par 229. Cressman previously shot rounds of 80 and 73, while Kirkpatrick posted earlier rounds of 78 and 75.

Junior teammates

Keira Howard and

Emma Tang also tied each other for 54th overall, with both recording a tournament total of 20-over par 233. Howard shot a 9-over par 80 in the final round, adding to her previous scores of 80 and 73, while Tang carded an 8-over par 79 on Wednesday, following back-to-back rounds of 77 to open the regional.

Senior

Sue Lee rounded out the Navy lineup by tying for 56th place with a 21-over par 234, as consecutive rounds of 75 on the first two days were followed by an 84 in the final round

Regional host Stanford led the field at 42-under par 810 (275-267-268), while Pepperdine, Oregon State, Arizona State and Missouri joined the Cardinal in being the top five teams to earn trips to the NCAA Championship next week.

Stanford's Andrea Revuelta led the player leaderboard at 12-under par 201 (71-65-65), while Emma Bunch of New Mexico State locked up the low-individual berth in the championship by finishing tied for sixth at 6-under par 207 (64-69-74).
