Ephs close second round at Men’s Golf NCAA Championship
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Williams College men's golf team finished its second round at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship at Mission Inn + Resort near Orlando, and will await the results from the rest of the day on Wednesday to determine whether the team makes the cut.
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Williams College men's golf team finished its second round at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship at Mission Inn + Resort near Orlando on Wednesday, concluding the team's participation in the event. The Ephs shot +19 as a team in both the first round and second round, finishing in 30th place at +38.
The Ephs played nearly a round and a half on Wednesday, as the golfers completed Tuesday's first round on Wednesday morning and immediately afterward started the second round. Williams finished the first round with a 19-over-par team score, and then posted an identical team score in the second round. The first round score was good for 29th place out of the 43 participating teams.
In the first round,
Alex Moller posted the best score for the Ephs with a 2-over-par 73 on El Campeon, the championship course of the two that were being used in the tournament.
Nick Smith shot a +5,
Owen Nielsen and
Will Rich each shot +6, and
Jack Estrella was +7. In the second round, Rich and Nielson each shot +4, Moller was +5, and Smith and Estrella were each at +6 on the Las Colinas course.
The rest of Wednesday's round determined that the Ephs did not make the cut, which included only the top 18 schools and top six individuals not on those teams.
Wednesday's round represented the final collegiate competition for
Will Rich, who played four years on the team and served as captain in 2025-26 and was the only senior on the team's roster this year.
