Ephs Host Annual F.I.R.E Meet

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. — The Williams women's track & field celebrated Senior Day with a strong weekend performance at the annual F.I.R.E. Meet, hosted at Lee Track.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. — The Williams women's track & field celebrated Senior Day with a strong weekend performance at the annual F.I.R.E. Meet, hosted at Lee Track.

The two-day meet, which began Friday with the heptathlon competition, honored legendary former Williams Head Coach

Dick Farley and was the Ephs' final home meet of the outdoor season.

The heptathlon kicked things off on Friday, where

Livi Mazerolle placed fourth overall with 4,364 points and

Mireya King finished eighth with 4,010 points, marking a new personal-best.

Williams was led by another standout showing from

Kate Tuttle who continued her impressive spring campaign with a first-place finish and a new school record in the 1500 meters in 4:24.47.

Jordan Liss-Riordan added a sixth-place finish in the event, crossing in 4:36.62. While,

Annika Paluska, captured the 800m title in a personal-best time of 2:07.76

The Ephs also showcased their depth in the distance events, particularly in the 5,000m, where Williams runners occupied spots four through six in a tightly contested field, and recorded four new personal-bests.

Jordan Liss-Riordan (16:38.11),

Tamar Byl (16:39.45),

Charlene Peng (16:41.37),

Morgan Eigel, and

Kate Swann (16:44.88) all contributed strong performances for Williams across the distance races.

In the steeplechase,

Clara Gahm led the Ephs with a fifth-place finish in a personal-best 11:01.84, while

Lily Yampolsky followed closely behind in sixth after clocking a personal-best 11:07.34.

Ella Kirkwood also turned in a strong performance, placing ninth in a new personal-best time of 11:13.33.

On the track, the 4x400 relay squad of

Cate Donaldson,

Ella Sukup,

Claire Jensen, and

Bella King-Harvey placed second in a time of 3:45.00.

Ella Buoncuore added a sixth-place finish in the 100 meters (12.95), while

Olivia LaBelle placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.88.

Williams also posted strong results in the field events.

Eliza Ayres led the Ephs in the long jump with a fourth-place mark of 5.42 meters (17' 9.5"), while

Kelsey Tarby followed in fifth at 5.33 meters (17' 6").

Maria Fareti added an eighth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.93 meters (154').

The Ephs will return to competition this week at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships and the MIT Final Qualifier as they continue preparations for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships beginning May 21.
