Ephs Prepare for NCAA Division III Tournament
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - After winning team and individual-champion honors during the NESCAC Championship on April 24-26 at Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam, Connecticut, the Williams College men's golf team earned the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament and will compete at the national stage on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - After winning team and individual-champion honors during the NESCAC Championship on April 24-26 at Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam, Connecticut, the Williams College men's golf team earned the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament and will compete at the national stage on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
This is the Ephs' 13th-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2017. The 2016-17 team finished 16th overall on the national stage, while Williams qualified for the national tournament in eight consecutive years from 1996-2003. This season, Williams secured its conference-leading 14th NESCAC Championship and first since 2017.
First-year
Nick Smith earned medalist laurels at the conference championship, scoring a 71-70-72-213. He also earned individual-champion honors during the Williams Fall Invitational on Sept. 20-21, recording a 75-65-72-212 score on Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
Smith was named NESCAC Golfer and Rookie of the Year, while Smith, sophomore
Jack Estrella and junior
Alex Moller earned All-Conference recognition. Smith and Estrella earned spots on the All-Conference First Team, while Moller took home Second Team acknowledgment. Smith became the fifth-ever Eph to earn the NESCAC Men's Golfer of the Year accolade and first since 2014-15.
Head coach
Josh Hillman earned the conference's Coach of the Year award this season for the second time, as he accomplished the feat in 2016-17. Hillman has powered the Ephs to three NESCAC Championships during his time in Williamstown, as this accomplishment occurred during the 2012-13, 2016-17 and 2025-26 seasons.
